Baby Turtle Help
Started By
Today I found a poor baby turtle being chewed by my dog and I got it from her before it was eaten. So, we now have it in a tank with some water with some lettuce but, its bleeding a little and it has some cracks in its shell. I need some help from turtle owners on how to help the poor turtle recover. Just any advice will help.
(By the way we named it Squirt. :P)

Sadly, the turtle (it was a turtle because it had webbed feet) died.
I tried looking for articles but, It bled out. It was a badly hurt newborn turtle.

Oh boy... depending on how deep the cracks are... i'd be very careful with cleanliness in the water. Could lead to infection

Is it a turtle or a tortoise? If it's a turtle, don't give it lettuce. Turtles don't eat herbs, but rather things like fish, etc. An online care sheet will tell you how to care for it. As for the wounds, I think a topical antibiotic like Neosporin should keep infection out as well as cleaning the cage once a day/every other day. Also, try feeding it a high-quality diet while it's recovering (and preferably onwards). I haven't really owned turtles, but I often read about them in reptile magazines. You might also want to give it calcium supplement to help the shell, because you want it to be very hard in case the cracks never dissappear.
This place will give you TONS more help. It's run by the people who (I think) write the magazines I read.
